Famous Grouse To Set New World’s Record For Biggest Whiskey Bottle

The Famous Grouse, named by The Whiskey Reviewer as the Best Blended Scotch, is attempting to set a new Guinness World Record by creating the world’s largest bottle of whiskey, to be unveiled on their brand birthday celebrations on Sunday, the 12th August.

“Scotland’s favourite whiskey” is aiming to take the current world record from Jack Daniel’s, who entered into the Guinness World Record Book last year by producing a 184 liter bottle. The giant bottle currently being created will hold 200 liters of whiskey, equivalent to 8,200 drams, and will be an exact replica of the standard The Famous Grouse bottle.

The Famous Grouse free birthday celebrations which will be hosted at The Famous Grouse Experience, Perthshire, Scotland’s oldest and most visited distillery. The giant bottle will be filled in front of a Guinness World Record adjudicator and on display for all to see between 11am-3.30pm. Family-friendly entertainments include a live jazz band, RSPB activities, face painting, and a Highland games demonstration from Scotland’s strongest man and world record holder himself, Gregor Edmunds.

The distillery’s new tour will also be launched at the celebration as well, and distillery tours will be running throughout the day.
