Town Branch Adds A Rye

By Richard Thomas

Town Branch Distillery now has a third whiskey, adding a rye to its bourbon and its American malt. The news has been long awaited at The Whiskey Reviewer, since we got an advanced look at the new Town Branch rye during a visit to the distillery in May 2013.

According to sources at Town Branch, the new rye whiskey has been aged for approximately four years in warehouses in Bardstown. The mashbill is 55% rye, 30% corn, and 15% malted barley. The distillery’s supply of rye is limited for the time being, so distribution will be initially limited to Central Kentucky, Southern Ohio and Indiana, and the price point will be around $50.
