Catoctin Creek has announced the release date for the newest expression of their popular Roundstone Rye Whiskey. The 2014 Roundstone Rye Cask Proof Brandy Finish will be released at the distillery for VIP members on October 19th, and then to the general public on November 1st.
The base for this whiskey is the distillery’s single barrel Roundstone Rye, made with a mashbill of 100% organic rye and aged in tight-grain Minnesota oak. The whiskey was then finished in a Bordeaux red wine barrel that had already been used by Catoctin Creek to age its 1757 Virginia Brandy. The result was bottled at 59.8% abv (119.6 proof). The price for a 750 ml bottle is listed at $85.65.
