Brooklyn’s King’s County Distillery has two new whiskey releases available for sale only at the distillery tasting room:
- Peated Bourbon. Similar to peated scotches like Laphroaig and Ardbeg, the whiskey uses grain that has been smoked with peat. Limited edition of 400 375ml bottles, $49
- Rye Whiskey. King’s County reported had a difficult time mastering the production of rye whiskey, and ultimately wound up with only three acceptable barrels’ worth of rye from their original efforts. This is the whiskey from that batch, bottled at cask strength (122 proof). This edition consists of 128 highly limited 200ml bottles,$39.
Both were made in 2011 during the period when the company was using its old eight-gallon stills.
