Harlem Whisky Festival Set For July

“Whiskey Comes To Harlem” via the inaugural Harlem Whiskey Festival, presented by Uptown. This two-day whiskey and entertainment experience at Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster July 7-8, 2015 will celebrate Harlem’s rich and historical place in whiskey lore dating back to Prohibition, when the standard drink at Connie’s Inn on 7th Ave & 132nd Street was called a “shorty” because it could fit into your pocket.

The HWF will feature an opening night, private invitation-only Craftsmanship Dinner honoring those who have achieved indelible success in their craft.

The second night will be highlighted by the Grand Tasting featuring over 30 whiskey brands from around the world for over 300 guests, celebrities and VIP’s.

HWF Founder, Ron Williams, states that “Harlem is a global brand with a diverse community of people who show an emerging interest & appreciation for whiskey; especially amongst women. Our goal is simple: we’d like to make whiskey accessible for everyone, particularly for those in Harlem.” Mr. Williams continued, “Our objective is to increase brand awareness, buzz & excitement for small distillers and local craftsmen. We plan to grow and expand the HWF brand into additional markets including Atlanta, Miami, DC, Chicago, and the Caribbean.”
