A Maltese court ordered the destruction of nearly 3,000 bottles of counterfeit Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey within 90 days on Tuesday. The whiskey was discovered by a customs comptroller during a routine inspection of a shipping container aboard the CMA CGM Fidelio on June 30. Chemical testing revealed that the whiskey was not genuine Jack Daniel’s. The vessel’s ultimate destination, and presumably that of the fake whiskey as well, was Libya.
