Hunt Succeeds David As William Grant CEO

William Grant & Sons CEO Stella David is to step down in February 2016, with the company’s current CCO, Simon Hunt, set to succeed her.

David joined the family-owned William Grant & Sons in 2009, and has overseen impressive growth and a series of important landmarks, such as the acquisition of and construction of a new distillery for Tullamore Dew. She also acquired Drambuie and saw strong growth for The Balvenie single malt. Her tenure also saw the company’s Glenfiddich brand pushed off the top as the world’s best-selling single malt by Glenlivet. David has indicated that she believes her career is now in a stage where she should focus on developing her collection of non-executive directorships, but she will continue with the company in an advisory capacity until May 2016.

Simon Hunt came to William Grant & Sons as Managing Director, North America in 2007, and was promoted to CCO in 2013.
