Fife-Based InchDairnie Distillery Operational

By Richard Thomas

Although not formally opened, the new InchDairnie Distillery is reported operational and producing spirit.

Ground was broken on the outskirts of Kinglassie in Fife a year and a half ago, and is among the most modern distilleries in Scotland. Projected to produce 2 million liters of spirit a year, InchDairnie will produce stock malt whisky for sale to other companies, as well as its own single malts. The first InchDairnie single malt is not planned for release until the 2020s.

The distillery has created 10 jobs. There are no plans to open a visitor center at present.
