Connacht Whiskey Company Ltd. launches Brothership Irish-American Blended Whiskey, a unique blend of Irish and American whiskeys, highlighting the best of both spirits. Brothership Irish-American Blended Whiskey is an homage to the heritage of the company, which has roots in the U.S. and the West of Ireland, and will be available stateside just in time for St Patrick’s Day revelry.
Connacht Whiskey Company is a collaboration between four men, one Irishman and three Americans that spans generations and the Atlantic. Theirs is a story of ocean-crossings, of “hellos” and “goodbyes,” of holding fast to history and building new traditions. Brothership is a nod to this shared heritage and celebrates the great legacy of whiskey-making in Ireland and the U.S.
Master distiller Robert Cassell blends a carefully selected 10-year-old Irish pot still whiskey with 10-year-old American whiskey (52% and 48% respectfully). The resulting blend highlights the smooth warmth of Irish whiskey and the rich boldness of American whiskey. Aromas of honey with butter and vanilla open to the sweetness of apple cider with a subtle hint of butterscotch candy, finishing with a surprisingly dry, floral finish. Robert has blended and bottled the whiskey at New Liberty Distillery, Connacht’s sister distillery, located in Philadelphia, PA.
Brothership is 45% ABV (90 proof) and is available in 750 ml in MD, DC, NH, and PA. SRP is $49.99 in all states except PA, were SRP is $39.99.
