Colorado’s Leopold Brothers Releasing Straight Bourbon Next Month

Denver, Colorado micro-distillery Leopold Brothers is releasing a small batch of limited edition Leopold Bros. Straight Bourbon for the 2017 holiday season, available for purchase only at the distillery.

Leopold Brothers Straight Bourbon is a culmination of the efforts at Leopold Brothers to revive Pre-Prohibition methods and ingredients, by working with local Colorado farms to grow heritage grains such as Abruzzi Rye, and malting two-row barley onsite. Leopold Bros. Straight Bourbon consists of 64% corn, 17% malted barley, 15% rye, and a balance of brewers’ malts such as Chocolate Rye. The mash is fermented onsite in open wooden fermentation tanks, then double distilled. The bourbon is then aged for 33 months in new, char #3, American white oak barrels inside the unheated Leopold Bros. dunnage-style barrelhouse with a barrel entry proof of 49% ABV / 98 Proof. The bourbon is unfiltered, and bottled by hand at 45% ABV / 90 Proof.

Leopold Bros. Straight Bourbon is available starting October 7, 2017 at the Leopold Bros. 18th Anniversary Party in 750ml bottles exclusively at the Leopold Bros. distillery in Denver, Colorado. This limited run will retail for $45.00 USD per bottle.
