Great Bourbon Heist Leader Pleads Guilty
Gilbert “Toby” Curtsinger, identified as the leader of a group of criminals that engaged in the theft of Bourbon Whiskey from two distilleries and participated in illegal steroid distribution, entered a guilty plea in Franklin County Circuit Court on Wednesday, September 20th.
Curtsinger was an employee at Buffalo Trace Distillery, and his allegedly stole Bourbon from that distillery and Wild Turkey over a period of years. It was when he lifted some of Pappy Van Winkle, an exceptionally valuable brand available only in small numbers, that his crimes were detected. He faces up to 15 years in prison.
