Old Forester Extends Whiskey Row Series
Old Forester has announced a brand extension to their Whiskey Row Series. Inaugurated several years ago, that series has consisted of four bourbons, all spins on the basic Old Forester: the 1870 Original; the 1897 Bottled in Bond (ironic, given that George Garvin Brown opposed the Bottled in Bond Act); the 1910 Double Barreled; and the high proof 1920 Prohibition Style. The new expression is the Old Forester 1924.
The story behind this one is it marks the 100th anniversary of Owsley Brown gathering up whiskeys from many different sources during Prohibition. The new expression is a 10 year old, 100 proof take on Old Forester, and is set to retail for $59.99 per bottle.
