The Oldest Highland Park Ever Is Here. With A Five-Digit Price Tag

Highland Park, one of two distilleries on Scotland’s northerliest islands of the Orkneys, has come out with its oldest single malt to date: 56 years old.

Highland Park 56 was created from a never-before-tasted cask, making it not just ultra-aged but also a single cask. Only 170 bottles of Highland Park 56 have been created globally. In the U.S., Highland Park 56 has an SRP of $53,500 USD and will become available beginning Spring 2025. This exciting release is the first to usher in Highland Park’s bold, new brand look.

Highland Park’s Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, explained, “What excites me most about Highland Park 56 is that it has both complexity and vibrancy – even after all these years, there isn’t the intense woodiness that I’d typically expect to taste in a whisky of this age. You can absolutely taste the distinctive, subtle smoke of our Orkney heathered peat which really makes this whisky remarkable.”

Bottled at 47.1%, Highland Park 56 is available for the wider global market now, but will not reach the US until Spring 2025.
