Jeff Arnett Opens New Shop In Jack Daniel’s Hometown

By Richard Thomas

Former Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller Jeff Arnett left the company in September 2020 to pursue endeavors in which he would be a co-owner, endeavors that led to the founding of Company Distilling in the Townsend and Alcoa area. Now Arnett’s company is taking what some might think of as the bold move of opening a micro-distillery in the Jack Daniel’s seat of Lynchburg, Tennessee.

The ribbon cutting and community event for the new facility will be on Saturday, May 17. Company Distilling is offering a sweepstakes for whiskey enthusiasts and other interested folks, which you can enter by clicking this link. Winners will receive an all-expenses paid trip to the grand opening plus a combination of BTS and VIP treatment.

The new facility will undoubtedly help raise Company Distilling’s profile with whiskey tourists. Although their original and primary distillery and tasting room is located adjacent to one of three major gateways into Great Smoky Mountains National Park and convenient to Knoxville, Jack Daniel’s is one of the most visited distilleries in the world, drawing in roughly 300,000 whiskey tourists annually. Having a storefront there guarantees walk-in traffic from a sizable chunk of those tourists, who have already demonstrated their interest in whiskey.

The new facility is slated to become a working micro-distillery, making gin and whiskey. It is already handling some bottling as well.
