Laphroaig Cairdeas 2018 Is Here

Every year, the Islay distillery Laphroaig releases a new spin on its Cairdeas single malt line, and this year is no exception. The distillery manager, John Campbell, is expressing his spirit of “Cairdeas” (Greek for friendship), with an expression finished in Fino Sherry casks.

Primary maturation was in first-fill bourbon barrels for this no age statement whisky. In keeping with the Cairdeas line, the whisky was bottled far above the usual 40 or 43% ABV mark for Scotch, at 51.8% ABV. Laphroiag Cairdeas Fino Cask has a suggested retail price of $79.99.
