Hooker House Introduces Rye Whiskey With Zinfandel Wine Barrel Finish
(Prohibition Spirits Press Release) Prohibition Spirits has released Hooker’s House RYE Whiskey the first whiskey double barreled in old vine Zinfandel barrels. The 95% rye mash bill produces an earthy spiciness that interacts nicely with the qualities of the used Zinfandel barrels. Double barreling the RYE enhances the quality spirit with Wine Country influences of dark fruits and spicy boldness from the neutral Zinfandel barrels. In addition, “The hot days and cool nights of the Carneros are ideal for grape growing and also excellent for aging Rye Whiskey” says Fred Groth Founder of Prohibition Spirits and HelloCello. “The constant expansion and contraction makes the Rye whiskey ‘breathe and gives it life”. Zinfandel is the perfect wine match for rye.
Hooker’s House Rye pays respect to the infamous General Joseph Hooker, a Civil War veteran, Sonoma resident, ladies man and Rye Whiskey aficionado. The spicy and bold character of Hooker’s House Rye is matched by General Hooker’s over indulging and sometimes outrageous lifestyle.
The process of finishing the Bourbon in Pinot Noir barrels produces a never before tasted premium class of RYE Whiskey. Hooker’s House RYE is available at quality retailers and restaurants in Northern California ($36). It is bottled at the General’s strength of 94 proof (47% ABV) in handsome 750ml bottles celebrating the General’s life.
