Catoctin Creek Releases Rare Hickory Cask Finished Rye

On Friday, June 1st, Virginia’s Catoctin Creek will release the Roundstone Rye Cask Proof Hickory Finish whisky! This takes their near 120 proof, award winning Roundstone Rye Cask Proof and finishes it in a hickory syrup barrel (not a barrel made from hickory!). The finish imparts a tangier, slightly smoky flavor to the rye whiskey.

This follows a hickory finish release a few years ago, and it will probably be a few years before they do another. The whiskey is available only at the distillery, and in limited numbers.
