Two distinct features mark Kentucky’s O.Z. Tyler. One is that it is a revival of the Charles Medley Distillery in Owensboro, located down the Ohio River from Louisville and quite off the well-beaten paths of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. The second is that it’s the home of Terressentia’s TerrePURE aging techniques, which are said to accelerate whiskey maturation.
Now Tyler has announced expansion plans. They will built a new warehouse at their Owensboro facility, plus ten more in neighboring Ohio County. The distillery will also add new cookers and fermenters to the site, to support expanding production expected to reach 95,000 barrels annually.
