Uncle Nearest Marks Namesake Distiller With New Small Batch
By Richard Thomas
Uncle Nearest 1884 Whiskey is named for Nathan Green, the first documented African-American distiller who worked in the business in the late 19th Century. Launched in 2017 in Tennessee, the brand has now added a small batch expression. This one is drawn from barrels personally chosen by the company’s head and co-founder, bottled at 93 proof and retailing for $50.
