The Kentucky Bourbon Trail Starts 2026 With 66 Experiences

Two More Experiences Expected In Near Future

WhistlePig’s tasting room The Vault will soon join the Kentucky Bourobn Trail. It’s open, but listed as “coming soon.”

The Kentucky Distillers Association, trade group behind the official Kentucky Bourbon Trail, announced eight new experiences were officially added to the map today, raising the total number of official bourbon tourist destinations across the Commonwealth to 66. Founded in 1999 and long before the Bourbon Boom came and went, Kentucky Bourbon Trail attracts more than 2.5 million visitors annually from all 50 states and dozens of countries. Research shows nearly 80% of Bourbon Trail visitors are from outside the Commonwealth, have higher household incomes than the average Kentucky tourist, travel in larger groups, stay longer, and spend more.

By region, the eight new experiences include:

Central Region

J. Mattingly 1845 Distillery (Frankfort)

Lexington Region

Dark Arts Whiskey House (Lexington)

LF Heritage Distilling (Georgetown)

Louisville Region

Left Bank Distilling Co. (Louisville)

Chicken Cock Whiskey Circa 1856 – Louisville Tasting Room (Louisville)

Green River Louisville Tasting Room (Louisville)

Western Region

General George Stillhouse (Falls of Rough)

Purple Toad Winery & Distillery (Paducah)

A ninth and tenth new entry were also announced as forthcoming: a new facility from Vermont’s WhistlePig in Bardstown and their tasting room, the Vault, in Louisville. The Vault is currently open while the Bardstown bottling plant and destination is not, but both are currently listed as “coming soon.”
