Redemption Releases Trio Of Cask Strength Ryes

Redemption Whiskey, best known as the bottlers behind the popular Redemption Rye, now have a trio of limited edition, cask strength rye whiskeys set to hit the market. Called The Aged Barrel Proof Collection, it consists of three rye whiskeys aged 7 Years, 8 Years, and 10 Years respectively.

The Redemption Aged Barrel Proof straight rye whiskey selections are all distilled from a mash of 95% rye and 5% malted barley. After being properly aged, each whiskey is minimally filtered and bottled immediately at full proof. The combination of high rye content and high proof is intended to allow each whiskey to gain significant flavor and ensure consistency bottle to bottle.

“Every so often, we’ll run into a barrel in the batching process that is so brilliant, we think it deserves a bottling of its own,” says Dave Schmier, founder of Redemption Whiskey. “The Aged Barrel Proof expressions are thoughtfully aged in the sweet spot of six to ten years to give the final product character and the ‘right from the wood’ flavors of a big whiskey.”

The Aged Barrel Proof Collection will be available in select markets in the U.S. Proofing, pricing, and official tasting notes for each expression follows:

Redemption Aged Barrel Proof Straight Rye: 7 Years (122.6 Proof; $79.99 SRP)

Tasting Notes: Herbal essence, with subtle hints of pear and peach followed by cinnamon. The spicy finish is bold and warming, against a touch of fresh vanilla and nutmeg.

Award: Double Gold Medal, 2015 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

Redemption Aged Barrel Proof Straight Rye: 8 Years (121.5 Proof; $89.99 SRP)

Tasting Notes: Toasted bread, woody spices and honeyed nuts. The spicy finish is bold and warming, against a subtle touch of fresh vanilla, cream and citrus.
