Located on the Scottish Highlands, Tomatin has recently launched a new limited-edition range. Called Five Virtues, it is inspired by nature elements that have been key to human evolution. These elements (wood, fire, earth, metal and water) are also a part of the whisky process. That is why the brand has decided to honor them with this new range in collaboration with the Scottish artist Eva Ulrich.

The fourth expression in this range is Tomatin Metal, a single malt that represents the 12 copper stills of the distillery. Tomatin Metal has been aged in first-fill bourbon barrels to highlight the classic Tomatin Style.

Tomatin Metal has been bottled at 46% abv, without chill-filtration and without adding colour. There are only 6000 bottles available globally.

The Scotch
Tomatin Metal is pale straw on the glass. On the nose, it starts with soft aromas, mostly vanilla notes and toasted oak. These are followed by a citrus touch, with notes of peaches, bananas and white grape. It is sweet and full of chocolate notes.

This single malt is softer on the palate, but no less complex. Tomatin Metal has a fruity side full of green apples and soft peach touches. It is mellow with a light body. There are also sweet vanilla and white chocolate notes that blend into a soft touch of malt. It’s really creamy.

The finish is lengthy and sweet, with a spicy touch. Vanilla notes linger on the palate.

Tomatin Metal is a soft and mellow whisky that highlights its sweeter side without being cloying. It shows some layers and nuances. Its smoothness also shows a great balance, turning this limited edition in a whisky to take into account.

The Price
Tomatin Metal is available in limited quantities globally. It is retailed at €60.
