Virginia Distillery Company Drops Two Beer Barrel Whiskeys

Virginia Distillery Co. is thrilled to announce the debut of The Brewer’s Coalition, an innovative new limited-edition series of American Single Malt whiskies aged to perfection and then finished in beer casks from preeminent breweries across the United States.  The distillery is kicking off this new range of whiskies with two Fall releases in partnership with Goose Island Brewery, based in Chicago, IL, and Hardywood Park Craft Brewery, based in Richmond, VA.  These partnerships create a fusion of whisky and beer that introduces a new dimension of flavor, further enhancing Virginia Distillery Co.’s award-winning American Single Malt whiskies.

Upcoming Releases:

Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt – The first release in The Brewer’s Coalition is finished in barrels from Goose Island’s renowned Bourbon County Stout. This whisky boasts aromas of brown sugar, coffee beans, and honeycomb as they merge on the palate with malty chocolate, a hint of citrus, cinnamon, and hazelnuts. This bottled-in-bond whisky is 100 proof, 50% ABV, and retails for $49.95.

Hardywood Gingerbread Stout Cask Finish American Single Malt – The second release is aged in barrels that previously held Hardywood’s acclaimed holiday release of Gingerbread Stout. This expression offers scents of candied lemon peel, apricot, and bright ginger as they gently melt into the taste of walnuts, freshly baked gingerbread cookies, vanilla icing, and lingering baking spice.  This whisky is 100 proof, 50% ABV and retails for $49.95

Exciting Future Releases – In addition to these inaugural releases, Virginia Distillery Co. has already secured an array of barrels from other renowned breweries for future expressions in The Brewer’s Coalition range. The Brewer’s Coalition will be available this Fall, with the Goose Island Bourbon County Stout Barrel-Finished Single Malt and Hardywood Gingerbread Stout Barrel-Finished Single Malt hitting select retailers, bars, and Virginia Distillery Co.’s tasting room starting in September.
