Chattanooga Chugs On To Batch 009 And 010

Chattanooga Whiskey is poised to release their latest pair of batches in their Experimental Series: Batch 009 & 010, a Tennessee Double Malt bourbon a Tennessee Double Barrel bourbon.

Batch 009 was made with a mash consisting of over 55% malted grains, including malted barley, rye, and wheat. This was made possible through the inclusion of a special, rare ingredient: floor malted  corn. Hand crafted at Valley Malt, the corn was malted in a time-honored, labor-intensive process of hand turning the germinating grain in open air, on an open tile floor. Aged for greater than 2 years, the mash bill also contains a blend of roasted and caramel malts to create unparalleled complexity in the finished bourbon. Batch 009 will be available in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and South Carolina.

Batch 010 is actually three separate whiskeys, each finished in three different, new, toasted and charred casks. Aged for more than 2 years, the signature Tennessee High Malt was transferred then to different barrels for an additional 6 months of aging. These three barrels – crafted by Independent Stave – were selected for their nuanced expression of flavor through a highly controlled toasting process. The result is three very different bourbons, bottled at 102 proof. This bourbon will be available only in Tennessee and Georgia.
