“Good things comes in threes” Jameson claims in regards to their newly released bottling “Triple Triple”. One of the triples of course refers to the triple distilling normally utilized in Ireland. The second triple points to the three types of casks being blended together; ex-bourbon, ex-Sherry and Malaga seasoned casks.

Jameson is made at the Midleton distillery in Country Cork by Irish distillers and they have with this new expression aimed to create a new taste experience through enhancing the single pot still and single grain Irish whiskeys through triple cask maturation.

The Whisky
The color is a lovely, golden yellow. The nose is very pleasant with strong notes of sweet, dark fruits such as plums and cherries on a background of zesty lemon and cinnamon.

The taste is velvety, smooth and sweet bringing up memories of warm plums with vanilla ice-cream. The dessert taste gives way to spicy notes of cinnamon and cloves that lingers for quite a while beckoning for another sip.

Pared with a glass of Malaga wine, you can clearly distinguish the influence of sweetness and dark fruits notes the wine cask has brought to the whisky. This is a pleasant and easily drinkable dram that could give a good start to a relaxing evening or maybe give an interesting twist to an Irish coffee.

The Price
Jameson Triple Triple is only available in global travel retail in 1L bottles and has a RRP of 32.

  1. What an in-depth review of a fine-looking drink! Your description seems so persuasive that I would want to give this to my best friend as a gift. Your Malaga wine suggestion alongside this is inevitable tempting. If I were to be a single malt irish whiskey importer, I will definitely distribute this to our community.
