Booker’s Batch 2019-04 “Beaten Biscuits” holds true to the Booker’s signature of delightfully strong, high proof Kentucky straight bourbon. “Beaten Biscuits” is named after the biscuits Booker Noe made using the recipe passed down from his grandmother. Noe spent years perfecting the recipe, beating the air out of them, and ensured the biscuits maintained a consistent plain taste. He enjoyed eating them with country ham and bourbon because the biscuits complimented them without altering the taste of the ham or bourbon. These were especially enjoyed around the holiday season.

The Bourbon
Bookers 2019-04 is a high proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon, bottled at 63.05% ABV (126.1 proof). The whiskey has been aged for 6 years, 6 months, and 19 days. It is unfiltered and hand selected by Fred Noe, comprised of whiskies stored in three different warehouses all produced on the same date. 47% came from the 6th floor of 9-story warehouse H, 11% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse P, and 42% came from the 5th floor of 7-story warehouse P.

Color: Deep Chestnut

On the nose are hints of caramel, vanilla, butter, dough, and oak. When tasted neat, hints of honey, caramel, oak, and the taste of buttery biscuits arises with a strong alcohol presence. The finish is medium length with more hints of caramel, oak, and strong peppery notes.

The Price
Booker’s Batch 2019-4 can be found for around $80.
