Bladnoch Bought, Ending Year In Limbo
By Richard Thomas
After more than a year spent in limbo, Scotch distillery Bladnoch was bought by Australian entrepreneur David Prior, according to the BBC.
Bladnoch went into administration in March 2014 under court orders, the fall-out of a disagreement between the four co-owners of the distillery, who themselves acquired the distillery from what is now Diageo in 1994. At that time, two of the four shareholders wished to sell and two did not, with the unnamed buyer refusing anything less than controlling interest in the company.
Mr. Prior promised a substantial new investment in the facility, to retain all existing employees, and to have the distillery producing again as soon as possible.
