WhistlePig has come out with the fifth iteration of it’s esteemed Boss Hog series of rye whiskeys, dubbed “The Spirit of Mauve.” Boss Hog is noted for being an very aged, cask strength and single barrel rye whiskey, and this expression is no exception: it’s a 13 year old, high octane rye. This year’s twist is a finish in Calvados casks, which led to the name: Mauve, the mascot pig, is fond of apples. Boss Hog 2018 retails for $499.99.
