Speyburn Brings 18 Year Old Single Malt To American Shores

Speyside-based distillery Speyburn has announced that its 18 year old single malt is coming to America, and to stay (for a while, anyway). Some 9,000 bottles will be sent to the U.S. market annually.

This new addition to the Speyburn range is dedicated to Speyburn’s Distillery Manager, Bobby Anderson; its bottling in late 2018 coincided with his 18th year at the forefront of the distillery. Since joining in 2000 he has been pivotal in Speyburn’s successful renovation.  Over the course of the past 18 years, he has helped to increase yearly production, reduce the distillery’s carbon footprint, and extend the Speyburn portfolio from two malts in the core range to seven (five in the U.S.), with further limited editions regularly released.

The whisky has spent 18 or more years in American and Spanish oak casks, and will sell for a recommended price of $125 a bottle.
