Islay-based distillery Laphroaig has put out a new malt in a new series. The Ian Hunter Story – Book 1 is the first installment in a series dedicated to Ian Hunter, the last member of the Johnston family to own the distillery, between 1908 and 1944. Over in the UK, this 30 year old single malt was sold initially by Laphroaig itself for €625.99. Now that it is coming to the U.S., the 750 ml version will be priced at a whopping $1,250.
