Nashville’s Nelson’s Greenbrier Brings Its Back Honey Cask Finish

Nelson’s Greenbrier of Nashville, Tennessee has announced the return of the highly anticipated Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish. This crowd-favorite bottle will once again be unveiled on Friday, May 24 at the Marathon Village Distillery Mercantile and Restaurant.

“We are thrilled to bring back the Honey Cask Finish, and we look forward to sharing this product with our loyal distillery community each year,” said Ed Kolb, head distiller at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. “To create this distinctive flavor profile, the spirit is thoughtfully curated through a unique process with the help of our friends at TruBee Honey, making it a truly special local collaboration.”

Several years ago, the local distillery conceived the idea of distilling bourbon with the flavor profile of honey, blending historic distilling traditions with innovative techniques. Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish is the result of Nelson’s Brothers barrels coated in TruBee Honey’s wildflower honey curated in Arrington, Tenn. The bourbon, the distillery’s Reserve blend, is added back to the honey barrels for finishing for anywhere between 3-15 months. After a meticulous process of sensory analysis, it’s perfectly blended to create one of the brand’s most celebrated products. Since its inception, the Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish has become a sought-after bottle among connoisseurs.

Bottled at 112.4 proof in a 750 mL bottle, the spirit boasts an aroma of shortbread, orange blossom and sandalwood with a layered finish of honey, hazelnut, caramel apple, nutmeg and licorice root. The distillery will host a Spring Whiskey Pairing Experience, featuring the Honey Cask Finish, for guests on Thursday, May 23 to get an early taste of the product prior to the official launch. Tickets for the event are available now online.

Beginning Friday, May 24 at 11 a.m., Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish will be available for $199. Customers are encouraged to arrive early to the distillery, located at 1414 Clinton St., to hold their place in line for the limited-quantity product. While waiting, guests can enjoy live music, specialty cocktails, food from The Restaurant and more. Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish will be available in select markets and around Nashville.
