Town Branch Releases 16 Year Old Single Malt

Lexington, Kentucky’s Town Branch Distillery has released an especially old American Single Malt as part of its Archive Series, building on last year’s inaugural release. In 2024, the first installment of the archive series released a 15 year old American Single Malt. This year takes that one year farther, with a 16 year old single malt. In The Whiskey Reviewer’s parlance, that extra year takes the stock malt whiskey from late middle age into full-on old.

Archive Series Volume 1 – Barrel No. 222 | Filled: July 2, 2009 (Lot 09G02) | Released: 2024 | 15 Years Old
This was the inaugural release of the Archive Series. Aged 15 years in former Kentucky bourbon barrels, only 108 bottles of this whiskey were released in 2024.

Archive Series Volume 2 – Barrel No. 223 | Filled: July 15, 2009 (Lot 09G15) | Released: October 2025 | 16 Years Old
The second installment in the Archive Series which continues the exploration of what American Single Malt Whiskey can be. Only 57 bottles of this whiskey were released in 2025.

Archive Series 2 is bottled at 100 proof, non-chilled filtered, single barrel expression with a suggested retail price of $399.99 for a 750ml bottle.
