Founded by Troy and Michelle Kooper in 2012, the company which began as a small whiskey project in Central Texas has blossomed into a whiskey blending powerhouse. Koopers Texas Whiskey is extremely family orientated. They trace their values back to their grandparents Howard W. and Jean M. Paredekooper, who followed the American dream by working hard, instilling good values, and emphasizing self-reliance. Kooper Distillery has cemented itself as a prominent Texas Distillery.

The Whiskey
Koopers Straight Rye Whiskey Aged 10 Years is a 100% rye whiskey distilled by Koval in Chicago. The whiskey is initially matured for nine months in new 15-gallon charred oak barrels in the intense Texas heat, then matured for more than nine additional years in a (seven years used) Buffalo Trace bourbon barrel. Koopers Straight Rye Whiskey Aged 10 Years is bottled at 100 proof/50% ABV.

Color: Soft Brown

The nose begins with aromas of subtle baking spices, cinnamon, and brown sugar. Following are notes of charred oak, toasted marshmallow, and spearmint. The palate is a bit spicier, with notes of vanilla, rye spice, charred oak, vanilla, and is rather peppery. The finish is long with continued notes of pepper, rye spice, and vanilla.
