Arizona’s Hamilton Distillers Giving Cask Strength Malt A Big Launch

Arizona’s Hamilton Distillers is gearing up for the release of “Distiller’s Cut” cask strength American single malt whiskey, a first for the Grand Canyon State.

“We’re excited to offer a cask strength single malt whiskey that allows us the opportunity to be more playful in our blending, which ultimately results in some very special batch-to-batch variation,” says Nathan Thompson Avelino, head distiller, maltster, and blender at Hamilton Distillers. “‘Distiller’s Cut’ is made with barley malted entirely in-house, and will be bottled at cask strength, around 120 proof.”

The launch will be a 3-day celebration throughout the state. The distillery will be partnering with Tucson radio station KXCI Tucson 93.1 FM from 7 pm to 10 pm on Friday, September 1st, 2017 at Hamilton Distillers, located at 2106 N Forbes Blvd St #103, Tucson, AZ, 85745. The party will feature live music by Tom Walbank and Hey, Bucko, a specialty cocktail bar, food trucks, and a bottle shop stocked with “Distillers Cut” bottles. A portion of all proceeds will go to KXCI’s programming.

The party will be followed by a series of events on September 2nd and 3rd, 2017 between six locations each in Tucson and Phoenix that will be getting the whiskey two weeks before the rest of the state. “We’re doing this like a concert tour,” says Amanda Paul, marketing director of Hamilton Distillers. The twelve selected locations are Welcome Diner Phoenix, Counter Intuitive, Gracie’s Tax Bar, Windsor, Bar Bianco, Lux, Hotel Congress, Bird Modern Provisions & Bar, Plaza Liquors, Welcome Diner Tucson, Che’s, and St. Charles Tavern.
