Kinsey Bourbon Whiskey 4 year is the last of the three whiskies in the Kinsey box set I received for Christmas 2019. Kinsey is an expression of whiskies from New Liberty Distillery in Philadelphia, PA, reviving a defunct brand name while also paying homage to the original foundation along the Schuylkill River.
The Bourbon
Kinsey Bourbon has been matured for at least 4 years, blended from two different source mash bills and bottled at 95 proof/47.5% ABV. Kinsey 4-year bourbon is a good bourbon for the price but lacks exciting or special characteristics that would make it standout compared to other bourbons similar within its price range.
Color: Bright Orange Gold
Nose: Brown Sugar, candy apple, honey, orange zest, baking spices, and some floral notes.
Palate: Cinnamon spice, oak, vanilla, orange, and delayed peppery notes just before the finish.
Finish: Long and spicy, oak, vanilla, toffee, and some floral notes.
The Price
Kinsey 4 Year Bourbon can be found for $40 USD.
