Michter’s To Release Toasted Barrel Finish Bourbon

By Richard Thomas

Michter’s, the bottler and soon-to-be distiller based in Louisville, Kentucky is set to release a new spin on its US*1 bourbon, the Toasted Barrel Finish.

Taking its existing US*1 Bourbon, Michter’s has added secondary maturation in toasted, new oak barrels made of staves that were air cured for 18 months. As a process, this is a new twist on “double oaking.” The limited release was bottled at 45.7% abv (91.4 proof), and will sell for $48 per 750 ml bottle.
