Woodford Reserve Returns To Double Double Oaked

Woodford Reserve has released its annual expression of Double Double Oaked Bourbon,  part of an annual series that celebrates Master Distiller Chris Morris’ commitment to innovation and craftsmanship.

The product is available in limited quantities at Woodford Reserve Distillery and in selected liquor stores in Kentucky. It has developed a passionate following among bourbon lovers, who eagerly await its release.

Double Double Oaked debuted in 2015 as a one-time-only offering. There was such demand for the product that it’s now released each January — and it quickly sells out.

Double Double Oaked is the result of finishing fully mature Woodford Reserve Double Oaked for an additional year its second, heavily toasted, lightly charred, new oak barrel. The extra year in the barrel creates a bourbon that is distinctly spicier than its original counterpart, known for its sweeter taste and finish.

“People love this product for its unique style and rich flavor profile — and they start calling and emailing in December, anticipating its arrival in January,” Morris said.

Double Double Oaked is presented at 90.4 proof with a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 375ml bottle. The Distillery Series expressions are small-batch offerings ranging from finished whiskies to straight bourbons and other unique spirits.
