Basil Hayden 10 Year Old Becomes A Regular Brand Extension
Basil Hayden and age statements have had a back and forth history. Originally introduced as part of the Jim Beam Small Batch Collection in 1992, Basil Hayden started out life with an 8 year old age statement. Beam Suntory then dropped that age statement in 2014. In 2018, they put a 10 year age statement on an annual, limited edition version of the whiskey. That 10 year old version of the bourbon, made from the same high rye stock as Old Granddad, is now a regular extension of the brand. Instead of being a limited edition, released in one batch every December, it will now be available all year around. The recommended retail price is $84.99.
