Barrel Craft Spirits Unveils 20 Year Old Bourbon
Six years ago, Barrel Craft Spirits released a 15 year old, gray-labeled bourbon, continuing its practice of skillfully sourced and blended, one-shot, cask strength whiskey releases. What we were not told at the time was that they set some of that batch aside for further aging in toasted barrels, with an eye on a prolonged new double oak treatment. The first of those barrels has now been dumped and bottled as Barrell Bourbon 20 Year Old Toasted Single Barrel.
This release, part of a production run of just 150 bottles, goes on sale tomorrow, Wednesday, at 10 am. Most of the lot will be available for purchase online at the Barrel Craft Spirits website, but 30 bottles will be available at their facility in Louisville for direct purchase. Bypassing any difficulties with retailer mark-ups, all bottles are priced at $199.99.
