Wiggly Bridge New England Single Malt Whiskey Review

By Richard Thomas

Rating: B-

This American Malt whiskey is so new that (at the time of writing) Wiggly Bridge hadn’t even updated their website to reflect its existence! As a single malt, we can guess that it is made from 100% malted barley. The whiskey was bottled at 80 proof.

The Whiskey
What makes this American Malt so noteworthy is how amazingly Scotch-like it is, being quite reminiscent of a youthful malt matured somewhere by the sea. That similarity begins with the look of the whiskey, which resembles white wine once it is in the glass. A swish and coat streams skinny little legs.

The nose smacks of cereals and seaweed, and it’s not altogether pleasant. Thankfully, the flavor springs explosively out of that foundation. Leaving the seaweed behind altogether, its honey sweet with a dash of cinnamon and a touch of ash. The finish winds down a little ashy and a little oaky.
