Kingsbarns Introduces Two New Single Malts

The folks who brought us the Wemyss single cask and sourced and blended whiskies, and built Kingsbarns Distillery, have brought us two new in-house single malts: Doocot and Balcomie.

Distilled from barley sourced less than six miles from the distillery, Doocot has enjoyed a longer maturation in a carefully selected combination of casks: 90% ex-Bourbon and 10% STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) ex-Portuguese red wine casks. Full of sweet, fruity character, the whisky is light, intensely fruity, floral, and complemented by a rich color.
Made from Fife-grown barley, Balcomie is a fruity, light, and balanced whisky bottled from 100% ex-Oloroso sherry casks. These casks were specifically chosen for their gentle oak flavors and rich sweetness to complement the fruity character of the spirit. Sweetly complex and elegant, Balcomie is rich with baking spices, dried fruit, and tropical character.
Both of the new Kingsbarns single malts are priced at $60 per bottle in the US.
