Keeper’s Heart Introduces In-House Pot Still Whiskey

Minneapolis needs some good news, and whiskey-lovers there finally have some. Local brand Keeper’s Heart has announced the release on an entirely in-house expression, their American Pot Still Whiskey. Billed as an American Whiskey made in the Irish style and under the stewardship of former New Midleton Master Distiller Brian Nation, the Irish side comes from the Irish pot still whiskey mash bill and distillation process. The mash is 50% malted and 50% unmalted barley; while the proportions vary, the use of malted and unmalted barley is the signature of the Irish pot still whiskey style. Also, the whiskey is triple distilled in what is now the Irish fashion.

For the American side of things, the whiskey was then matured in new oak barrels, that part being the signature of the American approach to bourbon, rye and wheat whiskeys, as well as American malt whiskey until recently.

The Keeper’s Heart American Pot Still Whiskey is the first in a trio of new in-house expressions. A pot still rye is set to follow next year, with a pot still bourbon in 2028. Keeper’s Heart American Pot Still Whiskey is bottled at 46% ABV and set to retail for approximately $50.
