Laphroaig Is Coming Out With Ultra-Aged Single Malt

Islay distillery Laphroaig is poised to release it’s oldest expression to date, a 28 year old single malt. The stock to create this new limited edition release was drawn from a range of cask types, from small quarter casks to massive Sherry butts. After being vatted together, the whisky from the various casks were “married” and finished for an additional year in ex-Sherry casks.

The single malt that came out at the end has been bottled at 44.4% ABV, and will retail for $799 per 750 ml bottle in the U.S.
