Four Roses Marks Annual Environmental Push With New, Limited Single Barrel

This year marks the ninth time Four Roses Distillery has sponsored a clean-up effort of the Salt River in Kentucky. A tributary of the Ohio River that enters the Ohio west of Louisville, the Salt traditionally marks the boundary between Kentucky’s Pennyroyal and Bluegrass regions.

For Four Roses, the annual Salt River clean-up campaign is a cornerstone of their commitment to preserving the limestone-rich water that is a resource for the local community and essential in Four Roses’ production process. Each year, Four Roses employees remove debris from multiple river access points and, in recent years, the distillery has expanded its efforts by partnering with the Kentucky Waterway Alliance (KWA), a nonprofit devoted to protecting, restoring, and celebrating the state’s waterways. This year, Four Roses is deepening that commitment by donating 50% of proceeds from its Private Barrel Selection bottles directly to KWA and its ongoing initiatives.

This year’s supporting single barrel release is a OBSK recipe bourbon, was 9 years and 11 months. It is priced at $120 a bottle and available exclusively at the distillery visitor center in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky.
