Jos. A. Magnus Marks A Decade Of Cigar Bourbon
The Jos. A. Magnus brand is named for a whiskey man who opened a distillery in Cincinnati, Ohio 135 years ago, back when being located across the river from Northern Kentucky made the place a hotbed in the bourbon industry. Although Magnus’s chief brand was called Murray Hill, the folks who started the Jos. A. Magnus company and brand in 2015 decided to go with the founder rather than the name of his principal product.
Magnus hired veteran consultant Nancy Fraley soon after opening their doors (Fraley only recently departed the company in May 2025), who created what was a first not just for the company, but also for the bourbon industry: a (sourced) bourbon concocted for cigar pairing. Magnus now marks their tenth release of their annual Cigar Blend with their most recent release. This new bottling blends core Joseph Magnus Bourbon with select 11- and 18-year-old whiskeys and finishing in Armagnac casks, delivering a rich, structured whiskey built to complement cigar smoking.
The new release is bottled at 120 proof and bears an MSRP of $179.
