North Carolina’s Southern Distilling Has New Bonded Rye
North Carolina’s Southern Distilling Company, has released its newest expression: Southern Star Bottled-In-Bond Straight Rye Whiskey. Crafted in a single distilling season, aged four years, and bottled at 100 proof.
Distilled and bottled in-house in Statesville, North Carolina, the whiskey has a mash bill of 51% rye, 39% corn, and 10% malted barley and honors the historic Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897—signaling authenticity, quality, and provenance in every pour.
“This is a whiskey built with intention and purpose,” said Pete Barger, co-founder and CEO of Southern Distilling Company. “We leaned into the complexity of rye grain while honoring the legacy of bottled-in-bond—delivering a whiskey that’s unapologetically bold, yet remarkably smooth.”
Southern Star Bottled-In-Bond Straight Rye Whiskey is available for purchase at Southern Distilling Company’s Tasting Room (211 Jennings Road, Statesville, NC) and North Carolina ABC stores statewide for $49.95.
