St. George’s Spirits Marks 25 Years Of Single Malts

St. George’s Spirits of Alameda, California is one of the small class of truly trailblazing craft distillers best described as “craft whiskey before there was craft whiskey.” Insofar as being a small whiskey-maker goes, they’ve been releasing annualized batches of American single malt for twenty five years now. Underscoring just how pioneering St. George’s work has been, Lot 1 Single Malt came out in 2000. That was four years before Stranahan’s in Colorado began making single malt in Denver.
The micro-distillery has reached its silver anniversary in whiskey-making, and Lot 25 will be coming out on November 8. The occasion will be marked at the distillery by a master class with master distiller Lance Winters and head distiller/blender Dave Smith, but the actual bottles will be available nationwide.
Bottles of Lot 25 are priced at $100 and available for pre-order through the distillery website.
